GUN DEER HUNT FOR HUNTERS WITH
DISABILITIES NOTES:
For the second year the Eau Claire Rod & Gun Club in conjunction with BADF
Disabled Service will be Sponsoring a Gun Deer Hunt October 13, 14, & 15 2006,
for six disabled hunters on Club Property. This hunt will follow the guidelines
established by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and shall be at NO
CHARGE to any person participating in the hunt because of donation from
company's and individual's. This special event might be the only way these
disabled individuals get out deer hunting and back into the woods they once
enjoyed so much.
Things needed from the Membership. (1) Help on and before the hunt, We have to
sign our property to the fact that we have a disabled hunt taking place. NO ONE
may hunt our property on these 3 days. (2) We will need some help getting
ground stands set-up for these hunters, Some help to get the disabled to these
stands and back out again. Much more will be needed as this hunt gets along in
the planing. Lets once again this year as last year make this hunt very special
for these hunters. Give Bob a call at 723-7419 or see him at the Club. Also if
you wish to make a donation to help defray the cost please give Scott Wallus at
833-0894 a call. Scott is in charge of all solicitation for this hunt. Please
remember that all donation to this hunt will be used ONLY for this hunt.

FISHING WITH BILL REABE:
We're starting to get into the fall season and the good fishing that goes with
it. Many of you will be doing mostly hunting but, if you can take a weekend or
even a day or two during the fall you'll have some of the best fishing of the
year. Fishing on the Mississippi for walleyes has been slow at best due mostly
to the low water levels. Bass fishing however has been very good for both
largemouth and smallmouth. Lots of the local small lakes have been producing
some good catches of bluegill and perch but you have to spend some time finding
them. Many people that I've been talking to are starting to put their boats away
for the winter and their missing some really hot fishing. All of the fish are
starting to fatten up for the winter and they'll go on a feeding frenzy at times
to do it. The important thing is to be there when they go on the feed. In the
next month walleyes in the rivers will be starting to stage in the spawning
areas for next springs spawn. If you work a little and find these areas you can
get some of the biggest fish of the year. Keep fishing and I'm sure you'll run
into some of these hot Fall fishing areas. Good Luck.
MAINTENANCE JUG:
This past month jug got a $100.00 donation from Jim & Julie Simon. Many thanks
Jim and Julie for your yearly Jug Donation. In the past weeks members have see
many items being up-dated and fixed so that club members can be proud of there
Club. Please help us with the continuous maintenance at your club. As you can
see maintenance at a Club this size is never ending.
LEAD RECOVERY UPDATE:
As you may have noticed the lead in the trap & skeet range's is being
recovered, to date over 40 ton has been recovered and shipped to the salvage
company in St Louis. The recovery contractor is the Lead Us Reclaim, LLC of
Augusta, WI. The Club signed a contract with them in August.
