GUN DEER HUNT FOR HUNTERS WITH DISABILITIES NOTES:
For the second year the Eau Claire Rod & Gun Club in conjunction with BADF Disabled Service  Sponsored a Gun Deer Hunt October 13, 14, & 15 2006, for six disabled hunters on Club Property.  This hunt followed the guidelines established by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and was at NO CHARGE to any person participating in the hunt because of donation from company's and  individual's.  This special event might be the only way these disabled individuals get out deer hunting and back into the woods they once enjoyed so much. This year 3 deer was shot, some misses did occur. This  was a great time for all the hunters and the many volunteers.  Here is a letter we received from one of the disabled hunters. He put in writhing what we heard from all the hunters.
Dear Friends:
Thank you again for such a wonderful experience at your facility.  The camaraderie and food was  just fantastic.  What a swell bunch of guys & gals.  Sorry we didn't reduce the heard more, but isn't that why they call it hunting?  My best wishes to all the volunteers, and staff.  May your holiday season be a blessed one !!!!

RIFLE RANGE:
This is a very busy time at the range so lets all be careful when using the range.  Lets all be very PATIENT  (Webster's definition) Enduring without murmuring; Not easily provoked;
Persevering; Not hasty. If we all remember this we will get through this busy time without any trouble or injuries. Also please when you bring targets to the range they go home with you.  Wayne Klett and his crew do a great  job keeping the range cleaned-up but at this time of the year they need help from the members that use the range. Remember NO glass,  tin cans, garden items are allowed on the range.  NO shooting of items placed on the ground.  Shoot at targets on the target stands only. Wayne said that they would be checking the range more often to make sure members are using it in the right way.
