2010 MEMBERSHIPS:
The 2010 Memberships will go on sale the 1st
of December. The Board of Directors voted to hold the membership fee's at the
same level as past years at $20.00, $30.00 for Family and $3.00 for youth. Locks
on all gates will change on the rt. of
January 2010.
ANNUAL CLUB MEMBERSHIP MEETING:
The 2009 annual meeting was well attended.
All in attendance had a minute of silence in honor of Club Treasurer Mike
Blaeser. President Doug Burrows gave a year end update of all the Club's
Committee's, and thanked all members for all the volunteer hours they put in
during 2009. Club had three Board of Director position to fill with three year
terms of Steve Gilbertson, Ron Harper, Jason Berry up at the end of 2009. Steve
Gilbertson wished not to run this year because of his travel plans in 2010 and
beyond. Four members were nominated to fill the three position. Ron Harper,
Jason Berry, Lamoine Nelson and Dave Linderholm. With Harper, Berry and
Linderholm receiving the most votes. President Burrows thanked each for running
for Directors of your Club and also asked for a hand of appreciation for
outgoing board member Steve Gilbertson, and wished him safe travel. Then came
the results from the yearly Club member game contest. ( See article of winners
in this newsletter). The 2009 Annual Membership Meeting came to a close, Make
sure you take in the 2010 Meeting and don't forget to bring your trophy's for
the game contest we would like many more entries next year.
2010 CLUB SHOOTING SCHEDULE:
The yearly shooting schedule is in the holder at the Club. This is the schedule of shooting dates for 2010, dates of start of leagues, time we start shooting and end time, bank score and shoot ahead dates, AT A shoot dates, Pick-up a copy for reference of time and dates.
8th ANNUAL SPORTSMAN'S DINNER & GUN RAFFLE:
For the eighth year Mike Johnson and the committee will be having the great evening with friends Annual Eau Claire Rod & Gun Club's Sportsman's Dinner and Gun Raffie, Again it will be held at the Westgate Sportsmens on Thursday February 25th• 2010. Starting with free beer and cash bar at 5:00 PM Dinner at 7:00, Many Special Raffies, Silent Auction, 40 Plus Guns given away, Many Door Prizes, & If you register by January 25, 2010 you will be entered in the Early Registration Gun Drawing. Please Give Mike Johnson a call 579-5707 if you was a ticket holder in 2009 and will not be able to attend this years event or if you are interested in having a ticket give him a call to see if there are any tickets available. If you would like to donate to this great event please give Mike a call. (What to heck if you have any questions call him.)
YEARLY TRAP MEETING DATE:
Mark down this date Monday March 15,2010. This is the date for the trap league meeting and it starts at 7:00 PM. Lee Mathson will be getting the Handicap League Registration form out to the eighty (80) team captains of teams that participated in the 2009 leagues. 40 from Tuesday & 40 from Wednesday very soon. If anyone of the team captains can not make the meeting please get the form to the meeting or mail it to Lee. (His address is on the form) Team Sponsor Fees will remain the same as past years $40.00 per team. Also Bob Webber will be getting the 16 Yard registration forms to the 32 teams that participated in that league in 2009, we wish them to be turned in at this meeting also. Only 32 teams in the 16 yard league again this year. At the meeting anyone wishing to bring up anything that pertains to the leagues is welcome.
GAME CONTEST:
Always at the Club's Annual Meeting in December is the Game Contest for Club Members. Bob Amundson and his trusty tape measure is always ready to record the entries. Again this year we had the following categories for Bob to award prizes. Biggest Buck Gun, Won by Andy Rosentrater, over Ron Harper who has been the runner-up in this category for the last three years. Hang in there Ron. Biggest Buck Bow, DeWayne Snobl. First time winner. Longest Pheasant tail, no contest Lee Mathson by many inch's. Longest Grouse tail, again Fred Krause over Gary Schulenberg by about 1/4 inch. Longest Turkey Beard Ray Skaw. Largest Deer shot by youth. None registered. Then Bob had to judge the "BIGGEST STORY" on how they were harvested. Bob Said no winner because he could not determine fact from imaginary fiction.
KAY OHYE TRAPSHOOTING CLINIC FOR 2010:
All American Trapshooter Kay Ohye will be
back for the 17th Year, holding a trapshooting clinic at your club on
May rt and 2nd 2010. This will be a two day class instead
of the three day he has held in the past. The Clinics are limited to 15 shooters
and if you sign up and pay in full before the 31 st of December 2009 you may
take off $50,00 of the class fee. For more information go to www.kayohye.com

CLINIC FOR 2010:
Campbell Clinic's will be held at the Club on May 18, 19, 20, 21 These are 2 day
classes, and for more information give Steve Gilbertson at 715-828-1783 a call.
He will let you know of any openings in these classes.
TRAP, SKEET & 5 STAND SHOOTING:
The Club will be open on Sunday's from January pt. All the way thru April 28th
2010. There will be some Sunday dates we will be closed or some other events
will be taking place. You should check the yearly shooting schedule for all the
times and dates. 5-Stand will not be open now that we have a cover of snow. Also
on bad weather Sundays it would be a good idea to call the Club before coming
out to shoot. It would be very helpful if on snow days you bring your snow
shovel along with your shotgun.
ATA 2010 REGISTERED SHOOT DATES:
The ATA shoot dates are: April 24-25, May 22-23, June 18-19-20 July 31-August 1.
The name and the sponsor of each shoot will be in the next newsletter.
DEER HIDE CONSERVATION PROJECT:
Chippewa Valley Outdoor Resource Alliance wishes to thank all the hunters that
donated the deer hides for there conservation projects. The drawing for the 12
cash prizes will be held at the Alliance meeting on Thursday January 28th
to be held in room 003 Chippewa Courthouse starting at 7:00 p.m. All are
welcome, Social time after the meeting.
DONATION JUG:
We wish to thank all members and non-members that place coins, bills and checks
in the maintenance jug. We use this for much needed repairs in and around the
Club. This was the 10th year we have had the jug for maintenance
jobs. We had $16.45 in coins and $843.00 in bills and checks placed into the jug
in 2009 for a total of $859.45. (MOST EVER) The 10 year total stands at
$4,891.14. We will have the big glass jug out again in 2010.
SAFETY IMPROVEMENT:
The work of many Club Volunteers has made a lot of changes to the rifle and
pistol range. New rifle and pistol benches, New target stands &
rubber
target holders placed. The back stops all have been made higher and the target
stands all were lowered for better safety. Remember that safety is the main
thing at the Eau Claire Rod &
Gun
Club, on all of it's ranges, Archery, Trap &
Skeet,
5 Stand, Rifle &
Pistol
&
Hunting
on Club grounds. It's the responsibility of All Club Members to see that they
have safety in mind when they do anything on Club Grounds. And also should
correct anyone when they see an unsafe act. That is being a good Club Member.
