As of this printing we have opening for two (2) 16 yard 5 person
teams. If
you have 5 shooters that would like to shoot on Mondays in this league
five (5)
times a year please give Bob Webber a call at 715-723-7419. We have had
a very
good response for the 16 yard league this year so we will be having 40

last year
so if you are one of them please do so. We would really like to
have 2
more teams. The first league night for the 16 yard league is Monday May
16th.
Sponsor fees for 16 yard also remains the same at $10.00.
INTRODUCTION TO TRAPSHOOTING:
We held two Introduction to Trapshooting classes in 2010 and they
proved to be
very popular with members. We now have two dates set for 2011.
they are
Monday April 11th at 6pm and Monday May 2nd also at 6pm Thanks to
the
members that helped introduce members to trapshooting, it is
appreciated. (P.S.
If there is a need we will hold more, let us know.)
MEMORIAL FOUNDATION:
Club’s members will be hearing and reading more about our
Memorial Project in
the very near future. It will be a "community" Memorial Honoring
those who serve Past, Present & Future. Memorial will honor
POW/MIA, Army,
Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Emergency Medical Service,
Fire
Rescue, and Law Enforcement. And it will be centered near flag
pole in
front of our Club House. Donations are needed to raise the funds to
construct
and maintain this Memorial. Donors may purchase engraved bricks
to honor
their family, friends and others. Steve Gilbertson is spear
heading this
project with the following committee members: Doug Burrows, Susan
Hagmann, Jim
Young, Rick Merryfield, David Zielke, Wayne Klett, Tom Tomlinson.
WISCONSIN SPORTS SHOW:
The WI Sports Show in Eau Claire at the Indoor Sports Center, was held
on March
19 and 20, 2011. This year the Club again had a booth at the show
to
highlight the many activities at the club for both the members and
community.
This year we got the message out to a lot of people, signed up
some new
members and had fun. We also were the "official
bartenders" for the show and raised some money for the club. Like
last year we received lots of help from the members that spent
time in the
booth and to serve beer, We would like to thank Doug Burrows and Dave
Linderholm
for taking the responsibility for the Bar and getting the Bartenders
lined up.
Thanks to Jason Berry and Heather Mulder for setting up the Club Booth
and
getting the staff to greet the many visitor’s we had that checked
our booth
out. Thanks to all the Volunteer’s that maned the Club booth and
the bar. Way
to many to name here. It was a good time by all in attendance.

GUN MISSING: (One More Try)
This is the Fifth time we have had to place this in the newsletter.
It’s
getting close to time that you will getting your guns ready for the
trap season.
If you own and use a Remington 870 Express 12 ga. PLEASE READ: PLEASE
LOOK AT
YOUR GUN TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR OWN GUN. We Still have no word on
this
gun’s where - a - bouts. CHECK NOW. On Wednesday August
18th. From gun
rack 3 between 8:45 and 9:00 pm someone took the wrong 870 Remington
and left an
870 Remington. The 870 that was left has a gross wood finish and
the
one you have has a dull wood finish. The serial number of the gun
you now
have (not yours) is AB057116M and the 870 that is yours has a serial
number of
A601114M. We have your gun so please call Bob at 715-723-7419 so we can
get this
gun to the right owner before hunting season.
MEMBERSHIP NEWS:
As usual, Gander Mountain, Scheel's Allsport, Midwest Mercantile,
Moldy's
Archery, General Coin and Gun, and Shorty's Barber shop will be happy
to sell
you a membership. The clubhouse is open every Sunday for shooting
until
May 1st. so memberships will be available there at the bar.
Please
stop buy and visit these merchants who help support the club. You will
be asked
to put a telephone number on your membership this year. With more
people
having cell phones and no land line, it becomes more difficult to
contact
members - especially during Handicap League Start-up. Lee Mathson
or Bob
Webber, and the league secretaries often have to contact shooters on
short
notice, but have a difficult time locating their phone numbers.
This
should help eliminate this problem.
MISSING VCR & DVD TAPES:
The club has VCR & DVD tapes that we let members use for
Trapshooting
information they are all out and have not been returned so other
members
may use them. If you have one of them please return them as soon as
possible.
BILL IS BACK, WE HAVE NO IDEA
WHERE
HE’S BEEN BUT WELCOME BACK BILL:
FISHING WITH BILL REABE:
As opening day of fishing gets closer, it’s time to make
sure that all
of your fishing equipment is cleaned and ready to go. Your rods should
all be
cleaned and the reels should be cleaned, oiled and filled with new line
for the
coming year. Check the wheel bearings and tires on the trailer as well
as the
winch and bunks. Everything on the boat should be checked out including
the
anchor rope, the gas tank and fuel line, the motor should be started to
verify
that it will run before you get to the boat landing. Which leads me
into boat
landing etiquette. When you get to the boat landing be sure to get
everything
that you want in the boat loaded before you pull up to the landing.
I’ve seen
lots of people back their trailer down the boat landing and then start
getting
things out of the car and into the boat which means no one can use the
landing
until they get their boat loaded and backed into the water. Always get
everything loaded into the boat before even pulling up to the landing
so you can
pull up, back in, unload the boat from the trailer and pull away from
the
landing as soon as possible so others can use the landing. If everyone
would do
this it would stop all of the waiting at the landings. Good fishing and
have a
safe opener.
